BOOM!

So I got my fireworks schedule. I'm psyched to be working in Irondequoit on July 4th. Irondequoit (ear-ON-dih-QUITE) is my hometown. Not that Rochester is big enough to have seperate hometowns within it, but in a way, it is. Just a suburb surrounded by a river, a lake and a bay. Hence, the Iriquois Indian name (Irondequoit) meaning "where the land and waters meet".

Anyway, as a kid, I used to take a city bus (they set aside on the 4th to shuttle the ten thousand people or so) to the town hall to see the fireworks. I had no idea every town in the country had fireworks at the time, I thought we were dammed soecial. Now, this year, I get to set those fuckers off myself for some kid who might live in the house I grew up in. Kinda cool. We get to mark on a calendar which fireworks shows we'd like to work in the beginning of the year. For the past 8 years, I have expressed interest in
Irondequoit. Now I'm in. And if the crew is good together, sometimes we work year after year on the same show... so I hope its good and I do a good job.

I'm also doing some high falls laser shows and red wings game fireworks. July 3rd, I'm in Geneva again. And the Firemans carnival in East Rochester. The high falls shows are city sponsored, and got cut a few years ago. its a laser show on the gorge wall next to the waterfalls- which are lit up with colored lights and is set to music. pretty cool thing for people to do around here for FREE.

We have two concerts coming up this week. One at High Falls, one at the Public Market. Fridays show, at the market, should be smokin! Kick ass reagee with Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad and then the regional jamband heroes, Max Creek. I have sent out emails blasts and put up posters and posted all over the internet. Should be a massive hippie turnout. Its FREE, after all.

People may find me

So I decided I might get better at blogging if I knew people were actually reading this blog. But how would they know about it? I haven't told anyone. I think if my friends knew they would freak out. Maybe I'll get a fanbase and get rich from google ads about Bulldogs and Fireworks.

Anyhoo- I put a link to this blog on my WBER profile. Maybe now someone will get to see this wonderful spewing of nonsense.

So please, drop a comment and let me know you read a post or two.... it will get me into gear on more posts, photos, etc... I just know it.

while I'm posting, how about some kickass websites to check out:

I suck at blogging

So May 7th to June 9th. Pretty pathetic, eh?

The interview...... WAS AWESOME! Listen to it here: THE INTERVIEW

What a good guy Mike is. I asked him to play a song, he plays it right off the bat. We have a great interview, we meet up at the club (remember I'm the promoter bitch too), set up and chat again. The two dudes he is with (Tour Manager and Piano player) are cool as shit too.

He says mid set during the show "This one's for Pete, hopefully he's still not working at the door." and goes into Grey Ghost, a song I told him is my favorite and changed my life. I get up on a chair from the back of the room (above everyones head but eye level with Mike) and watch the whole song, the door be damned. It was so fucking sold out anyway. I was turning handfuls of people away. He sold out all but three dates of the tour. What a day May 8th was.

Since then, I've been broke as a joke, just squeaking by getting ready for the summer shows- that start TODAY! Check out the website.
